I have been working on leather reconstructions for the last 5 years and leathercrafting for 30 years. I am currently studying a Masters of Teaching at Murdoch University and doing ARCY1002 (Experimenting with Archaeology) at the University of Western Australia.
I am currently at the beginning of my dissertation in the field of architectural history with the broad topic of the construction methods of the Scandinavians of the early Middle Ages.
I started dealing with archaeology in the 90s, during my university studies at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and the Institute of Archaeology of the State University, both in Milan, Italy.
I am an anthropologist, specialized in archaeological sciences and ancient technology, with a doctorate dissertation on physical and chemical analyses carried out on prehistoric pottery from Sicily.
Since 2005 I am active in living history fighting as a gladiator and founded in 2006 my own group, the Hamburg-based LVDVS NEMESIS.
More than 25 years a Roman re-enactor with an interest in all aspects of human life as it was. But as a cheese maker by profession particularly interested in the dairy products of ancient times, both local and Roman.
I have been involved in Historic Building Conservation for 40 years including Experimental Archaeology. I am currently a conservation consultant and historic materials practitioner.
My research and experimentation activity started in summer 2008 with the first pit-firings and the first mono-chamber kiln (Bronze Age).
My interest in archaeology has developed as I grew up in Indonesia, a country rich with archaeological sites. Although I do not have any archaeology degree, my passion has led me to join the EXARC Team.
