Precision work from the Viking workshop

Business in Haithabu was often paid for with hacked silver. These were crushed coins and pieces of jewelry that were weighed on handy scales. The traveling merchants carried these collapsible scales on their belts. Such fine scales were also used for valuable materials such as spices, medicines, pearls and precious stones.

Meeting point

The Viking Museum Haithabu consists of an exhibition house and an outdoor area with reconstructed Viking houses. The car park is located near the exhibition center. To get from the parking lot to the reconstructed houses, you should plan a 20-minute walk.
