Medieval summer 2021
The Middle Ages are still an era that is able to arouse interest and longings. The period between 500 and 1500 AD has been presented and dealt with in countless feature films, novels and television documentaries. Entire music genres and event formats are devoted to medieval lifestyle, often mixing fantasy with historical reality - and they're really fun. Of course, the Middle Ages are also the subject of scientific research, which repeatedly brings exciting results to light.
The Brandenburg State Archaeological Museum cannot be missed either, and on two summer weekends it is dedicated to armed men, noble women and aspiring citizens. Under the motto "Knights, Minne, Table Delights", the actors offer various insights into the courtly and knightly world of the high Middle Ages as well as into the life of wealthy citizens and servants of the late Middle Ages.
Food and drinks will not be sold on the museum grounds this year.
Instead, the Pauline museum café offers delicious meals and snacks as well as refreshments.
A prerequisite for participation in both events is compliance with the respective regulations for the containment of COVID-19 that are valid at the time of the event. We will keep you up to date on this.

This weekend, the actors from the areas of living history, reenactment, archeology and anthropology will address the combative aspects of medieval life. The development from early medieval lords to classic knights is conveyed. Soldiers who heralded the end of the knight era also introduce themselves and their combat and siege tactics. Of course, the craft of the armorer, who artfully crafted the metal armor, is also presented. Demonstrations of various armor, weapons and instruments from the early to the late Middle Ages are the highlights on these days. Visitors can also find out what patterns of injuries the armed conflicts left on the human skeleton.
