From June 13 to 16, 2019, glasses will be blown and shaped at the reconstructed wood fired Roman glass furnace at the Roman Villa Borg. This year a team of international glass specialists, some of them have been involved in the reconstruction of antique glasses for more than 25 years, will meet at the furnaces. The focus of the project will again be Roman glass forms. But also glasses from other eras are produced. As in previous years, the participating students (Universität des Saarlandes) will again build and operate a clay furnace for the production of glass beads.
Demonstrations take place from Thursday to Sunday almost continuously from about 11:00 to 17:30 clock.
