There is ample evidence that different women from different backgrounds had a special relationship with Lorsch Abbey. As empress, queen, noblewoman, nun or farmer, these women left their mark on the Lorsch monastery. They appear in the historical sources in different roles: as a donor, as a wife, as a pilgrim, as a healer, as a political advisor or as a worker. They accompanied their husbands when signing documents, they were advisers on political activities, they found refuge with the Lorsch monks and were partly buried in the monastery. It is important to trace these women in leadership.
