I am a paleoanthropologist at the Faculty of Archaeology in Leiden University. I'm interested in the use of plants by early hominins and humans prior to agriculture, and how the use and processing of these plants may have shaped our evolutionary trajectory. I study the plant remains in archaeological materials, energetics of gathering and food processing, and food choice behaviors among living groups.
