As founder and the first chairperson, I represent the WEAG (Workgroup of Experimental Archaeology Groningen). This is a student initiative of the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, founded in January 2019. At this moment, the group has 20 members and is still expanding.

I like the study of medieval castles and fortifications, not only for the military implications but for their construction methods, renovations and adaptations to new technologies through the eras an the many functions they had in a particularly society during their existence.
I am involved in community archaeological excavation projects as well as experimental archaeology mostly based on the early medieval period. I also organise living history courses in Viking Age metalwork techniques.
I teach Medieval Archaeology and I make research from 1986. I am very interested to experimental, archaeometric and public experience in archaeology.
PhD in medieval archaeology since 2011. 18 years experience in various archaeological fieldwork: necropolises, churches. My present project is to create an archaeopark in the ASTRA Open-Air Museum from Sibiu, Romania.
I am a non traditional student reentering academia after a 30 yr Hiatus. I was a volunteer with the North Carolina Office of State Archaeology for several years in my earlier years. I have now decided to return to gain a degree in Anthropology and Geology.
