Bones, legs, horns, antlers and teeth - it's wonderful what you can use from animals. When there was no plastic, for example, combs and buttons were made from antlers and were accordingly expensive.

Horn is elastic and becomes soft when heated - not only bow ends are made from it, but all kinds of everyday devices.

For millenia, draft animals played a key role in the survival of many cultures. Even today, draft animals still secure the livelihood of millions of people around the globe. Be it in transportation, agriculture or forestry: draft animals can offer sustainable, ecofriendly and economically valuable ways of land-use.

Hunting has long been an important part of human nutrition, and a bow and arrow was one of the most important tools. Interested parties can experience how to build such a weapon in a one-day workshop on October 3rd, 2021.

Big Festival with Floats and Millet Porridge 

Under supervision, visitors to the Celtic village will discover one of the most important hunting weapons of mankind on May 16: bow and arrow. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In his course, Peter Knodel would like to introduce the advantages, techniques and possible uses of the versatile building material clay. This will be done very practically when building a wall in one of the Zeiteninsel buildings. 

During this weekend, with the support of our experienced course instructors, you can plan and implement your own projects on the subject of bronze casting.
