Short days, long nights, cold and freezing nature: winter. Even in freezing temperatures, the history park opens its doors this weekend, where you can look over the shoulder of our performer during your daily chores. Especially in the Middle Ages, the population had to prepare very well for the cold season in order to have enough firewood and food. The days are short and much of life takes place around the warming fire. Handicrafts are made, cooked, talked, laughed and the community celebrated.

On Sunday afternoon, a public tour in German or Czech takes you through the historical park to the medieval origins of our Christmas party.

And to warm up, our museum restaurant Brot & Zeit offers mulled wine and other winter delicacies. If you are still looking for Christmas gifts, then you can stock up in our museum shop with brightly colored, plant-dyed wool, fine cloths, hand-made ceramics, filigree ironwork, historical jewelry and many other products that our actors have produced in the history park over the year.
