Among the games and sports prized by the Romans, the gladiature has a special place, a universal and unifying subject present in all the provinces of the Empire. Emblematic of Antiquity, it gives us keys to explore and understand Roman society but also ours, through the fantasized representations that the gladiators have aroused in our collective imagination.
The 2018 Gallo-Roman Days highlight the universe of gladiature and its many facets, from the most spectacular to the most intimate.
The content of the program and activities will focus on the contributions of experimental archaeology, a specialty of the museum for the last fifteen years.
