Graduated in 2001 at the University of Pavia with a thesis in Archaeology of the Roman Provinces, I subsequently obtained from the Province of Pavia the qualification of expert technician in the analysis and cataloguing of monumental assets at risk according to the Risk Map, the qualification of Promoter of cultural heritage specialized in the tourist enhancement of the territory, further improving myself in teaching Italian to foreigners, in the teaching of classical disciplines and in the teaching of cultural heritage.
I worked at the Civic Archaeological Museum of Casteggio and Oltrepo Pavese (Pv) as a person in charge of guided tours and educational workshops. From November 2014 I started the activity of archaeogastronomy with the sole proprietorship Il Convivio di Mussi Laura, aimed at the sale of food and drinks based on recipes of the past (ancient Greece, Celtic era, ancient Rome, Middle Ages, Renaissance etc.) and to dissemination of gastronomic knowledge of the past. I propose historical recipes and revive the disappeared flavours on modern tables, with the aim of increasing interest in archaeology and history, rediscovering and enhancing our cultural origins and traditions, promoting the territory and culture also across the board.
The activity of selling products, consulting or complete realization of aperitifs, dinners, conferences, courses relating to ancient cuisine is normally carried out on historical re-enactments, historical fairs, in conjunction with conferences, exhibitions or anniversaries and special events at museums or for public bodies and other private entities (with tastings or conferences). I also participate in various historical re-enactments in various Italian regions.
For the Expo 2015 in Milan, I organized several monthly meetings with historical animation at the Cereals and Tubers Cluster for Varvello 1888 and at the Bio Mediterraneo Cluster, entitled "Aperitif with history", aimed at the discovery and tasting of some recipes from ancient times.
I have carried out numerous historical themed tastings in various Museums and Castles, especially in Northern Italy; I participated as a speaker at conferences on food in antiquity and I held some lessons on wine and cooking in the ancient world at some Higher Institutes.
In 2017 I presented my activity among the ArcheoStartUp at the XXI Mediterranean Exchange of Archaeological Tourism in Paestum, because my goal is to bring archaeogastronomy to museums, both with tasting events and with the sale of products.
