For the fourth consecutive year, our Festival of Archeology is back
Create a sitting or moon gazing hare, an animal steeped in mystery and storytelling and a lovely addition to your home or garden. Students will learn a variety of techniques including a variety of basketry techniques and freeform weaving.
The workshop is suitable for anyone who is new to willow sculpture as well as those with little experience.
An action-packed weekend as Anglo-Saxon group Herigeas Hundas defend the magnificent Butser Saxon Hall from the marauding Vikings of Wuffa, back for a second attempt to claim it for themselves!
This weekend we will be joined by members of Colchester historical re enactment society or CHES for short.
This group endeaver to bring the ways of the Anglo Saxon era to life and will be showing tablet weaving, loom weaving, spinning, dying and wool production in and around our Saxon Halls.
Join us to discover behind the scenes on our latest Bronze Age roundhouse construction. At 2pm we’ll be giving an outdoor tour of the build site, discussing our progress so far and the lessons we’ve learned as we bring the Bronze Age to Butser.
