On September 11 and 12, the group Dutch Indian Friends will show the beginning of the Wild West! They show not only the well-known tipis in different sizes from this period, but also various other shelters of the Indians, such as the so-called Trapper's / Mountainman's. During the day, the Indians give demonstrations including making fire, throwing a knife and axe, archery and cooking

Scottish Weekend

During the weekend of 25 and 26 April, Scottish history from 1300 to the present will get full attention in Archeon. Different periods between 1300 and the Second World War are re-enacted. Both citizens and regiments show the daily Scottish life through the ages. A camp from the year 1300, Scots from the year 1745 and the group 92nd Gordon Highlanders will show the life of that time.

This weekend you will experience what it is like to live in the Napoleonic era. A grand camp, the life back then with special demonstrations. Exercises are carried out, soldiers are paid out, troops are inspected and preparations are made for people to go home. There are also various shooting demonstrations with both muskets and cannons.

Live interpretation is arguably the best way of bridging that dimensional distance. We talk about ‘Bringing the Past To Life’ or ‘Going back in Time’. Visitors often cite ‘time travel’ as a motive for visiting.
