I became interested in experimental archaeology while writing a novel series set in the early western European Neolithic. My interest began with recreating tools, clothing, and other materials needed to simulate early Neolithic life, especially the Linear Pottery Culture, in an effort to provide literary accuracy. This interest quickly escalated into a full-blown hobby.

My experimentation surrounds all aspects of Neolithic life (Mesolithic and early Bronze Age on occasion), but my focus is spinning and weaving using prehistoric looms, spindled, and similar techniques. I am concerned very much with how clothing may have appeared, how clothing may have been made, and how clothing might have been used. Fashion is essential for every other period, just as it should be in the Neolithic.
