I have been studying and training in a range of Asian and European traditional martial arts for over 20 years. I run a number of medieval martial combat clubs (looking at combat as a martial art and not a sport) and also interested in earlier period combat of the Greeks and Romans. Currently volunteer at a local museum cataloguing their edged weapon collection, am a Trustee at the Combined Military Services Museum in Maldon, Essex and I work with authors to help bring realism to their combat sequences.
I am the head of marketing for CEMA - the newly formed Centre of Experimental Military Archaeology based in Kent, which is currently building a World War One trench system for filming and educational use. Other projects on site include English Civil War Earthworks and Bronze Age Combat projects.
Currently working on a number of weapon based projects for demonstration and talks about Bronze Age, Gladiators and Legionary melee combat.
