Jessi Berndt

I am a postgraduate student at the University of York specializing in Material Culture and Experimental Archaeology. Currently, my dissertation in progress that addresses the production of beer (cider), using an interdisciplinary approach to the interpretation of material culture, with experimental archaeology as a verification process to test the possibility that the Anglo-Saxons had cider before the Norm Conquest of 1066. I intend to show that this is evident in the current material culture available.
