Yes indeed, there were "no borders" for trade people. Traces at the Biskupin settlement show there were numerous contacts across Europe and beyond. Just like elsewhere in Europe in Prehistory, most people never left their home region, but the few who did might have travelled a long distance, bringing expensive goods to the rich. Some of these affluent people lived indeed in Biskupin.
Ornaments were imported from Italy and central Germany. Contacts with the Alpine region were very important, items from there influencing the appearance of the local (Lusatian) pottery decoration and probably the beliefs as well. Parts of a Scythian armour were found, small arrow heads and exotic (!): Egyptian blue glass.
