PhD Student in the field of public archaeology at the University of Lausanne. My thesis is titled: “Potentiel et limites de l’animation et de la reconstitution historiques dans la transmission des connaissances auprès des publics”.
The first time Lara got in contact with experimental archaeology was in 1995. As an ERASMUS student at the University of Edinburgh, she attended Nicholas Dixon’s Underwater Archaeology and contributed in building one of the wattle walls of the Scottish Crannog Centre.
Giving lectures about Experimental Archaeology at the University of Hamburg since 2004, also in charge of the annual Experimental Archaeology Summer camp at the Stone Age Village of Albersdorf, Germany (AÖZA). Own Experiments on Neolithic Housing, ceramics, woodwork and textiles.
I am a historian who teaches early American and First Nations' history at Moravian College. Together with Sandy Bardsley, a Medieval historian, we will be offering a course on experimental archaeology in the spring.
Historical and Archaeological Interpretation
I teach experimental archaeology in the Anthropology department at Humboldt State University, California. The labs and classes provide student insight into past technologies, helping them recognize the tools and evidence in the field.
My first experience with archaeology during my BA was within the living history archaeological open-air museum at Historic St.
Since 1993 I work on the field of living history, mainly covering the Middle Ages. I hold lectures in schools, kindergartens & universities in medieval clothing and equipment. I explain the development of arms and armour.
