The annual Iron Smelting Days are the largest gathering of its kind in Europe, with blacksmiths, artists and archaeologists gathering around a dozen or so iron smelting furnaces. It is a unique chance to learn a lot in very short time about the process of producing iron in the old days.

My speciality is developing and testing Bronze Age weapons, working with leading experts and students to develop the knowledge at Butser.
Sculptor / Jeweller turned Metal smith with special interest in Bronze and Iron Age castings and metal work. Volunteer at Butser Ancient Farm assisting in Bronze Age sword castings and helping to set up an iron smelting project.
This three-day hybrid event brings together archaeologists and classicists worldwide to debate current developments in the field of Roman vine and wine studies.

“Know how” is the motto at the 2021 Monument Days. In the museum, we immerse ourselves in the Roman era and create artistic objects. An afternoon for everyone who likes to work according to ancient models.
I have been working on leather reconstructions for the last 5 years and leathercrafting for 30 years. I am currently studying a Masters of Teaching at Murdoch University and doing ARCY1002 (Experimenting with Archaeology) at the University of Western Australia.
