Nettles in the Bronze Age
I’m Jen. I’m a student of History, Heritage and Archaeology.
Since 2012 I am helping to get started and to continue the archeological research on Salamis island, specifically around Ambelakia bay. Known from the 480 BC Battle of Salamis. We are also trying to setup an archeological park there.
I am an anthropologist, specialized in archaeological sciences and ancient technology, with a doctorate dissertation on physical and chemical analyses carried out on prehistoric pottery from Sicily.
Studied prehistoric and classical archeology at the University of Würzburg 2008-2013.
Now working in an unrelated field, but still interested in experimental archaeology.
The 6th Archaeological Experimental Ceramics Workshop will take place this August in Foini!
In this workshop we will explore the techniques and technologies of the Bronze Age with the reconstruction of ancient cooking pots of Cyprus and the surrounding Mediterranean countries.

Fiavé is one of the 111 places, together with Ledro, part of palafitte preistoriche dell’arco alpino site; it is included in the UNESCO world heritage from 2011.
