Early in 2003, the website moved to the Netherlands, where the secretariat is situated. In this second generation website we included a bibliography on experimental archaeology. We held a conference in Lejre (DK) where we officially founded EXARC.
At the end of the Summer of 2003, tragic news reached us that co-founder and first president of EXARC, Tomas Johansson, had died.
In October, we held a conference in Hungary where we commemorated Tomas and also discussed the options for a first EU-funded project: three EXARC members would together form "Delphi".
