I am very proud to have been selected to represent EXARC as one of a small number of participants at the forthcoming NEMO (Network of European Museums) Learning Exchange which takes place next week on 27 & 28 June in Hungary on the subject of: “The Solidary Museum: Museum Programs taking social responsibility”.

This Learning Exchange is hosted by the Hungarian Open-Air Museum in cooperation with the Pulszky Society - Hungarian Museum Association will include talks and museum visits to hear and see at first hand the various Hungarian museum programmes that have been designed to help adults living with dementia recall their museum experience, programmes to engage socially disadvantaged children, and ways in which museums can cater for visitors with comprehension-related difficulties.

I will be producing a report of my experience, which will appear in a future EXARC Journal and online, but if colleagues with an interest in this subject would like me to make any specific enquiries or to contribute any of the ideas from programmes from your museums, then I would be very happy to do so on your behalf.
