York has had great success with Marie Curie applications and there is a current financial award system for people wanting to apply for a Marie Curie to come to York for a day or two to work on their application with relevant staff.

The Department of Archaeology at the University of York invites applications for Visiting Fellows. These awards enable Fellows to travel to York and spend a few days with a nominated academic member of staff to develop a Fellowship application for submission in 2017 (e.g. Marie Curie/British Academy or other).

York has excellent outdoor experimental facilities at the YEAR Centre (see here: https://www.york.ac.uk/arc.../centres-facilites/year-centre/), which is a one minute walk from our state-of-the art labs in BioArCh for lipid analysis, DNA, isotopes, ZooMS, zooarchaeology and microwear analysis (https://www.york.ac.uk/archaeo.../centres-facilites/bioarch/) plus many other areas of specialisation, e.g. digital imaging, that interface with experimental and material culture research.
