On November 2nd, 2015, EXARC attended a work meeting in Berlin with colleagues from Museumsdorf Düppel & Kloster Lorsch discussing ancient breeds and cooperation on this theme between archaeological open-air museums. Berlin is the origin of the Düppeler Weideschwein, a pig which is a lookalike of medieval type pigs. We talked about how these Düppeler Weideschweine are now distributed across Germany and what could be its future. Also under discussion was a meeting on livestock farming in (re)constructed historical contexts where EXARC seeks cooperation with other international associations. We expect to publish more on this conference soon on the EXARC website.
