Mid-August, one of our EXARC Members organised a large festival at the archaeological park Nicopolis ad Istrum in Bulgaria. This second edition included 120 reenactors and craftspeople from Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Macedonia.
The event was themed with the late Antiquities at the backdrop of the Romano-Costobocian & Romano-Gothic wars as well as early Christianity. It did not only show military aspects, but also a ritual to Jupiter, Antique fashion and attention for Ulfilas who translated the Bible from Greek into the Gothic language and devised the Gothic alphabet. This is just one of the 250 or so events EXARC presented on our online calendar and in our social media. Please contact us if you have more events we can publicise at https://exarc.net/events.
